The term “running” covers so many different types of training. What type of running you do should depend entirely on what your goals are.
Here are a couple of types of running training for you to pick from.
Sprint Training
Sprint training is ideal for anyone looking to get faster over a short distance. While most people that undertake sprint training are short-distance runners, sprint training is also excellent for marathon runners who seek to improve their start or finish.
In this training plan, you will see that the warm-ups for the sprint training regime are focused on improving your plyometric power, a great asset for running fast!
Having my plyometric power will add more spring to your step and will increase your bound, allowing you to run faster.
Marathon Training
To become a better marathon runner or long-distance runner, we need to focus on improving our cardiovascular capabilities. By building your lung capacity, you will be able to run faster for longer.
You will see from the training regime below that more focus is put on building up this capacity rather than focusing on plyometric training exercises.
