If your doctor has advised you against running or any fitness that involves hard impact, then you should avoid running. Instead, look out for bikes or cross-trainers in your local gym, or even purchase a road bike if you want to exercise outside.
Equally, if you know running can have a negative impact on your knees or other joints, ensure you make sure to get plenty of stretching in before and after each run and don’t fight through the pain.
One run in pain is not worth six weeks of barely being able to walk!
